E17 Designers, a network of 25-plus designer-makers based in Walthamstow, birthplace of William Morris, is keeping his Arts & Crafts legacy alive with two more sales of fashion, jewellery, textiles and home accessories in November and December.
The sales at Vestry House Museum on 10th November and Harmony Hall on 13th December, both in E17, offer early bird Christmas buyers a one-stop shop, with a choice of innovative, one-off art and craft items, including jewellery, glass, bags, cushions, children's’ gifts and clothing, art and photography, complementary therapies, aromatherapy items, homemade cakes and confectionery – a wealth of stylish, fun and original gift ideas to suit all pockets.
Charlotte Conway’s KNITTED HUSBANDS – bespoke portraits of your spouse, have featured on Robert Elms’ BBC London show and in Mark Hampson’s exhibition at the William Morris Gallery.
E17 Designer events are also hugely enjoyable social occasions. Buyers have the opportunity to meet and chat with makers in the elegant surroundings of the Vestry House garden and also to sample the lively, festive atmosphere with live jazz at the evening event at Harmony Hall.
Previous E17 Designer events in 2006 and summer 2007 drew over 400 buyers from across north London. They have also attracted widespread media coverage, including BBC Radio London and the Evening Standard’s Homes and Property supplement.
“Little treats out east” Katie Law, Evening Standard
“One-off, tasty, innovative products” Waltham Forest Guardian
“Take note of the independent designers around London who are being quietly creative...they need support “ Clare Dwyer Hogg, The Independent Saturday Magazine
